About Stella

I am a fully qualified Dyslexia Assessor and Specialist Teacher, with over 25 years teaching experience of working in primary, secondary and specialist educational settings.
As a Specialist Advisory Support Teacher in Oxfordshire, and as a SENDCo in Buckinghamshire, I have worked extensively with students who have dyslexia and other challenges with reading and writing.
For the past 5 years, my focus has been on assessing, teaching and supporting students, providing targeted tuition, interventions and strategies to help them overcome literacy difficulties and barriers to learning.
At present, I am working independently and specialise in providing diagnostic dyslexic assessments for primary and secondary age students and assessing for access arrangements in compliance with the JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications).
I am a member of The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS) and conform to their Code of Ethics and Continued Professional Development. I have a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS Certificate which is continually updated.
